Today is the final day of the 2012 School of International Futures. The participants benefitted from a series of comprehensive presentations that introduced new methods of scanning the horizon and scenario planning. By creating an open forum for discussing novel methods of strategic foresight, participants could test and develop new ways of addressing future issues.
During the week, participants have tested methodologies by creating hypothetical scenarios and addressing potential shocks and wildcards that would impact policy planning. For the past five days, participants have participated in a ‘live challenge,’ combining all of the knowledge gained through the week’s events. The knowledge gained during the School of International Futures, and put to use during the live challenge, will inform policy decisions in the future.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Wilton Park and to the participants who made the School of International Futures such a success.
