Ammaarah Nilfadeen

Biography

Ammaarah Nilafdeen is a Researcher with the Center for the Study of Organized Hate in Washington, DC. She is a social researcher based in Sri Lanka and a Next Generation Foresight Practitioner Fellow. Over the past five years, Ammaarah has documented and researched issues related to minority rights. Her work has increasingly focused on violations of religious freedom and the politicisation of religion in Sri Lanka and the South Asian region. She is currently working to embed more ethical, participatory research approaches by testing ways to move away from extractive methods and integrate foresight practices into community-led research.
