Donna Dupont

As a Principal at SOIF, Donna Dupont operationalises the strategic direction of projects and leads delivery by designing effective approaches to ensure high-quality deliverables across project teams. Donna is an award-winning designer and futurist. She brings skills and insights developed over 20 years working with public sector leaders in healthcare, emergency management, military, policy and strategic planning. She also collaborates with private sector leaders championing sustainability in the mining sector.

Since joining SOIF in 2022, her work has focused on security-related projects, including Drivers of Change of the Global Space System for the European Space Agency and the Future of Serious and Organised Crime for the UK’s National Crime Agency.   

Overall, Donna works on various global collaborative projects focusing on vulnerability, conflict, risk mitigation and adaptation that contribute to strategy development in climate change, environmental security, disaster risk reduction, public safety, health and human security. Her work focuses on building anticipatory and adaptive leadership capabilities and cultivating mindsets and skill sets to build agility in learning and resiliency towards shaping a more sustainable future. 

She is a recipient of seven Canadian government awards at the provincial and federal level for outstanding achievement, excellence and partner relations in policy and strategic planning. Her futures research, “Anticipation in Emergency Management, 2020”, received awards from the Canadian Defence and Security Network and the Association of Professional Futurists.

Donna holds a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight & Innovation from OCAD University. She is a Guild Council member of the Archipelago of Design (defence and security collaborative network), a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and the Association of International Emergency Managers. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Canadian Journal of Emergency Management.
