Richard Kelly

Biography

Proven experience in conceiving and operationalising growth and new ventures at large multinationals across global markets, at Levi’s, IDEO and Fung Group.

Currently Richard advises senior executives, consults with global enterprises and acts as an operating partner in building ventures. He founded The 3rdWay Collective to partner with Guild of Future ArchitectsHuman Capital Network and All is For All in collaborations focused on the future of consumption, work, cities. The work questions and reframes equitable infrastructures for new economies and explores the constraints around philanthropy.

Most recently Richard led innovation teams at the Fung Group, a $20B, 40K+ employee organization, where he focused on new value creation and building capability across the group.  He believes that asking new questions provides inspiring platforms for teams and technology to explore “what could be..?”. In Shanghai and Hong Kong from 2015-20, he led a team that launched Exploriur, a space that collaborated with its communities and partners to reimagine the future of retail, citizenship and commerce.

Considered a thought leader in his field, Richard is regularly invited to share his perspectives on innovation, future-proofing, and cultural change at forums including: WEF, WGSN, The NextWeb, BOAO Asia Forum, Skoll World Forum and Sina.com. He sits on the advisory board of Design Schools at Tongji University, HK Polytechnic and is currently teaching at Rensselaer Polytechnic, NY State”
