Rachelle Mehdi joins SOIF as the Multilateral Advocacy Lead after serving the last two and a half years in the United Nations Secretariat, including within the Executive Office of the Secretary-General. During her time she led the development of the Annual Report of the SG on the Work of the Organisation for the last two years in a row, the only report mandated by the United Nations Charter. She also managed the launch of the inaugural UN Global Risk Report and supported system-wide transformation initiatives, providing strategic analysis on developments in global risk, data, and innovation. While with EOSG, Rachelle served on a temporary assignment in Jordan with the regional UN Development Coordination Office this past fall, leading the production of the entity’s first ever regional disability inclusion strategy for Arab States.

Prior to joining the UN, Rachelle served as a Data Analyst at the U.S. Agency for International Development, where she secured and managed multimillion-dollar Congressionally awarded funds in support of interagency data and information exchange initiatives. Her previous experience includes serving in key positions at the U.S. Department of State and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, among others.

Rachelle is an alumna of the University of Michigan, where she pursued both her undergraduate and graduate studies. In her free time she enjoys roller skating, learning how to DJ, and hanging out with her two cats, Kahla and Rumi.
